
Hallå from Heather!
I'm Heather, the owner of Drömhus, and I am a 4th generation Door County enthusiast. I am happy to be back home here in Sturgeon Bay and can't wait to meet you and share our story and space.
Door County has always held deep roots for my family. In the 1940's, my family built cottages near Idlewild where my great-grandparents, Eva and Anders Hammarström, raised three boys. It has always been a very special place for everyone, especially my father, Terry.
Growing up in the 1980's and 90's, my family lived on Bayshore Drive in Egg Harbor where I spent summers going to the haunted house, hanging out at the drive-in, and working at Al's, The Landmark, Village Cafe, The Summertime (now Barringer's), and more. I grew up surrounded by Door County's wonderful service industry.
Like so many of us, I went away seeking adventure, but now that I am back, I couldn't be more grateful to be home. My dad has since passed away, but I decided to pick up his dream where he left off. We had always wanted to be a team up here, and through Drömhus, I feel that he is with me every day. I am so glad you're here to experience this cozy space, to savor the comfort food, and to enjoy good company.

Meet the Crew

Jeff Neske
Chef & Co-Owner
Chef Jeff comes to us from St. Paul, Minnesota where he spent the first half of his life listening to punk music and raising three sons. He worked as a cook for many years and is also a fantastic handyman.

Megin Stich
General Manager
Megin has been keeping things sane at The Drömhus from bookkeeping and organization to planning vampire soirees, Megin is a tremendous asset here at the “Hus”. When she's not busy doing the jobs Heather isn't good at, you can find her mending and "Stich"-ing fabulous clothes or socializing around the town. A Door County native, Megin spent many years on the west coast managing a winery, so she's no stranger to great wine!

Anna
Kitchen & Marketing Manager
Anna is the hand behind our social media, kitchen, and all things food and event related. She has a background in catering and managing events of all sizes, and she loves putting these skills to use at the 'hus. If she's not at work, she's probably out hiking in a Door County park or checking out a new coffee shop.

Front of House Manager
If you've ever been here when Cande is working, you know she's got enough chutzpah to run the whole place by herself! She is so full of positive infectious energy that people come for the meatballs but stay for the Cande! When she's not working at the "Hus" you can find her tattooing, singing & playing her bass/ukulele or tending to her plants.

Lily walked in over two summers ago with an outstretched hand and a confidence like none other in her peer group. Jeff said she’s a “No nonsense go-getter” and I couldn’t agree more. She’s one of the hardest working and reliable kiddos we’ve met and her knowledge of wine has blossomed into that of a “quasi-sommelier”. She’s got a sharp wit and and excellent smile and she helped us build a solid foundation and for that we are truly grateful.

She thrives in the fast-paced restaurant environment, keeping the atmosphere light and lively while ensuring top-notch service. Her happy-go-lucky attitude makes Makiala a joy to work with and her positivity is contagious—lifting both teammates and guests alike. Whether juggling multiple tables or cracking a joke to brighten someone’s day, she brings enthusiasm, warmth, and a can-do spirit to every interaction.
